Another thing is that this is written on a complete tear down and rebuild. Mine says the same thing and it's the 1991 - 2002 version and mine on the inside cover says 12N22-87010. I imagine there is more than one version to cover later years. The Haynes I have lists it at 89 inch lbs. The Haynes lists the torque for the DOHC cam cover at 89ft-lb which is just a slight bit over the actual 89 in-lb which is only a factor of 12 error and you just broke something that is not a hardware store part and can possibly destroy the head.
The errors in Haynes are the type you will never spot until something breaks. I'm starting to wonder whether he owns one. the guy's a genius with Saturns, but I don't recall ever watching a video where he busted out a torque wrench. None-the-less, how many times did you ever notice a professional mechanic reference the proper torque specs? Ever watch a Richpin video?. the Hayne's Saturn manual is loaded with easily over 100 torque figures, but there are some figures that are missing. One final note on this torque spec stuff. I wanted a manual for a Toyota Celica we owned and Hayne's did not make one, so I checked Toyota's website and the manuals were sold in two enditions. It must also be said that the manuals are very inexpensive $20 - $25 as compared to shop manuals. Now, there are things I've changed on my Saturn SC that were not well covered in Hayne's, but, for the most part, I was able to find the necessary info online (i.e., a google search). It's well set up and has excellent visual aids. The Hayne's manual IMO is an excellent resource for most home mechanics.
